With over 130 years of cooking knowledge and expertise, AEG have built a formidable reputation on their enviable German engineering, superior technology and luxurious design.

Hobs are an important part in a kitchen, playing a crucial role in the cooking process, and it can take a long time to find the right one for you and your home. Hobs are available in a variety of fuel types, such as gas, electric, induction, and ceramic. Each one offers different features and benefits, catering to a range of cooking preferences and requirements. For example, induction hobs provide precise control and energy efficiency, while gas hobs offer immediate heat and visual flame control.

Electric Hobs

Let's start with electric hobs. Electric hobs are known for their ease of use and versatility. They are generally easy to clean and maintain, and their temperature control is often responsive. Additionally, they can be suitable for a wide range of cookware. There are two main types of electric hob - ceramic and induction.

Ceramic Hobs

AEG Ceramic Hobs

Ceramic hobs feature a smooth, glass-ceramic surface with heating elements underneath. The heat is transferred directly to the cookware placed on the surface. They are a popular choice due to their sleek design and ease of use. The smooth, flat surface is easy to clean, too. Spills and splatters can be wiped away with a damp cloth, and the lack of traditional burners eliminates the need for removing grates or burner caps. They also heat up relatively quickly, providing fast cooking times, and feature responsive temperature controls, allowing you to adjust the heat precisely for different cooking tasks.

AEG offer a small range of ceramic hobs in 3 widths - the standard 60cm, and the wider 80 and 90cm sizes, and feature some clever features and functions, such as Automax, Stop and Go, and extendable cooking zones. Automax brings the zone up to the boil and then will reduce it to the pre-selected powerlevel for the remainder of the cooking time. The extendable zones and oval multipurpose zones provide you with more flexibility and a wider choice over the size or shape of the pots and pans you use. The Stop and Go function reduces all zones to a 'keep warm' setting if cooking is interrupted. When you return to cooking, Stop+Go remembers the previously selected setting.

A few of the ceramic hobs are available with a stainless steel trim, which will coordinate nicely with a built in stainless steel oven and microwave. The majority though have a sleek bevelled edge that fits snugly with your worktop.

Induction Hobs

Induction hobs are fast becoming the most popular type of electric hob as they are far more responsive, quick and safe than other types. Induction hobs use magnetic fields to directly heat the cookware, making them highly efficient and precise. The heat is evenly distributed to the pots and pans, and the hob cools down instantly when you are done. The hob itself remains relatively cool, and the heat is generated only where the cookware makes contact with the surface.

Due to the popularity of induction cooking, more and more brands are investing in the technology, producing more and more advanced and specialised features and functions. AEG is no exception to this, with a wide range of induction hobs available in their catalogue. They currently have 4 induction hob collections in their catalogue.

3000 Induction Series

3000 INDUCTION

The 3000 range are AEG's most basic induction hob, but they still feature some great technology. The 3000 induction hobs offer superior temperature control and brilliantly fast heat up times. Be in full control and go from simmer to boiling in just a mater of seconds. The 3000 hobs feature AEG's DirectTouch user interface, so you can control each zone individually. Simply place your pot or pan on the hob and control the heat zone using the plus or minus buttons. The controls and display are easy to use and read, providing responsive and precise heat. All of AEG's induction hobs feature the Child Safety lock - an invaluable function which ensures that the hob settings cannot be accidentally changed, so you can use the hob safely when your children are around.

The majority of the 3000 hobs also have the PowerBoost button which gives you an instant burst of heat that boils water in under 90 seconds- faster than an electric kettle. It's perfect for tasks like boiling potatoes, and other quick cooking jobs too, like searing meat. Another popular feature is the XL Triple Zone, a specialised hob zone the provides even heat that correlates to the size of the pot or pan being used. It can be used for pot sizes from 125mm to 320mm.

You can also choose a hob with AEG's Hob2Hood technology. The Hob2Hood® function connects the hob to your cooker hood. When you start cooking on the hob, it communicates wirelessly with a compatible Hob2Hood hood, which then automatically adjusts the fan speed based on the heat from the hob below.

Hob2Hood® Technology

The Hob2Hood® function connects the hob and the hood. The cooker hood automatically adjusts the fan speed based on the heat, without lifting a finger. Just make sure you have an AEG Hob2Hood® cooker hood to benefit from this feature.

Power Boost

A blast of fast! The PowerBoost function gives you an instant burst of heat, and can boil a pan of water in under 90 seconds, making it quicker than an electric kettle. PowerBoost is perfect for tasks that require you to boil a large pot of water quickly.

XL Triple Zone

You don't need a wide hob to make use of your larger pots and pans. Whether using small or large cookware, the specialised XL Triple Zone delivers even heating that correlates to the size of the pot or pan being used. It can be used for pot sizes from 125-320mm.

6000 FLEX

6000 Flex

The 6000 Flex Induction Hob is perfect if you want to customize your cooking area. There are two versions of the Flex - those with FlexiBridge® and those with the Bridge. The FlexiBridge design lets you combine up to 4 segments to provide a consistent and even heat distribution for larger pans and dishes. Sharing the same temperature and time settings, the linked zones are ideal when you're cooking for dinner parties or bigger celebrations, or for cooking lots of dishes together that need extra space. If you don't need quite as much space, you can choose the Bridge design, which uses the same concept as the FlexiBridge® but combines two cooking zones together, instead of four. The 6000 models are available in 60cm and 80cm widths, and feature AEG's Hob2Hood technology, the responsive touch control display, and the PowerBoost function.

Another great function on the 6000 hob is the PowerSlide, which is found on the FlexiBridge® hobs. From boiling to simmering to keeping warm: when you need repeated quick heat changes to create a dish, use PowerSlide. Simply slide your pan from heat to heat, without stopping to adjust temperatures up and down as you re cooking. PowerSlide lets you fix different pre-set heats on part of your hob: choose your own, or use the hob's own pre-sets.

The FlexiBridge® hobs are also part of AEG's Pure Design range. The Pure hobs are designed to blend seamlessly into your worktop. When turned off, the hob is completely black- no zones, lines or prints are visible. When turned on, the cooking zones and touch controls come to life. The Pure Design combines a sleek aesthetic with responsive and modern functions, perfect for those with a more minimalist approach to style and interiors.

7000 SENSE

The 7000 Sense hobs have sensors that assist your cooking. There are two types of 7000 Sense Hob - the SenseFry® and the SenseBoil. SenseFry® ensures a perfect fry and SenseBoil® detects and reduces rising bubbles to a low simmer. Both types of the 7000 Sense hob feature theHob2Hood® and PowerBoost functions.

7000 SenseFry

The AEG SenseFry induction hob ensures your food is fried evenly. Pick your dish or select preferred frying level, and the hob maintains a precise heat from start to finish. The SenseFry hobs also feature the Bridge induction zones so you can combine 2 hob areas at once to accomodate larger pans.

Fry Sensor

The Fry Sensor provides consistent frying for each dish. Just select the food and desired result and the hob will sense, control and regulate an even temperature across the surface of the hob and the pan.

The Boil Sensor detects rising bubbles and automatically adjusts the temperature settings, reducing it to a controlled simmer. No more montioring and also saving you both time and energy.

Full Colour Touch Controls

Available on select models, the Full Colour Touch Control user interface provides step by step guidance and live feedback, meaning you can cook with more confidence and take your cooking to the next level.

Boil pasta, simmer sauce, pan-fry a steak whether rare, medium or well-done. It's the personal sous chef for restaurant-style results at home.

It's also easy to control the SensePro® hob thanks to the Full Colour Touch Control display. Monitor live feedback for each zone and adjust the settings accordingly. It's an intuitive way to finesse the cooking process all it takes is a touch. Once a cooking zone is in use, its timer can be accessed quickly and conveniently via the touchscreen display. No toggling through menus or other zones. And because each dish can be precisely timed individually, absolute control over the cooking process is guaranteed. For added assurance, the Control Lock will prevent any alteration or activation of the hob's settings; simply lock the controls once the cooking functions have been selected. It can also be used to lock the hob in the off position for added safety. To maximise kitchen safety, the Child Lock can be activated to prevent the hob from being turned on accidentally.

The 9000 SensePro® hobs are AEG's most advanced range of hob, so they feature the majority of the fancy technologies that AEG has to offer, including the PowerBoost function and the Hob2Hood® technology. The hobs also feature the Bridge function, allowing you to combine two zones into one larger cooking area. The linked zones share the same temperature and time setting, making it ideal when you need to use bigger pans or griddles.

The full colour touchscreen provides complete control over the hob. Monitor live feedback for each zone and adjust the settings accordingly.

Wireless Food Sensor

The wireless food sensor measures the core temperature for precise cooking, and is suitable for frying, boiling and even sous-vide.

Individual Zone Timers

Once a cooking zone is in use, its timer can be accessed via the touchscreen display. No toggling through menus or other zones.

Venting Hobs

Venting hobs, also known as extractors hobs or downdraft induction hobs, combine a cooktop and a built-in extractor fan into a single appliance. These hobs are designed to provide an integrated solution for cooking and ventilation, and they are becoming increasingly popular in modern kitchens.

Like traditional hobs, extractor hobs have cooking zones on the surface for placing pots and pans. Most are induction hobs, but a few brands offer electric hobs, or gas hobs. What sets extractor hobs apart is the built-in extractor fan located near the cooking zones. The extractor fan is designed to pull in cooking fumes, smoke, and odors directly from the cookware, and is usually located in the centre of the hob. Instead of having a traditional overhead range hood, extractor hobs use downdraft ventilation. The extractor fan is either built into the hob surface or rises from the countertop when in use. It pulls air downward, capturing cooking vapors at the source.

Extractor hobs offer flexibility in installation. Some models can be flush-mounted into the countertop, while others can be installed with a slight elevation for additional ventilation efficiency. There are two types of Venting Hob - Recirculation or Ducted. When installing a venting hob for Recirculation, the air circulates within the cabinet. For installation via Duct Out, you will need a hole in the wall so filtered air can escape outdoors. Both models feature built in innovative filters.

Recirculation: With no additional structure work required, Recirculation Hobs offer a simple installation process and minimal energy loss due to the warm air discharge. Less air goes out into the environment, making this a sustainable choice.

Ducted: With no additional cost for carbon filters, Duct Out Hobs offer a cost effective option by featuring resuable, cleanable grease filters. Combining a high airflow rate and high effectiveness at low extractor setting for added efficiency.

It's always important to check which installation type is most suitable for your kitchen and double check which Venting Hob models will be suitable for you. We always recommend consulting an experienced fitter, as well as the manufacturer fitting and installation guides prior to purchase.

Venting hobs usually offer the same features you'd find of a cooker hood. They typically offer adjustable fan speeds to accommodate different cooking needs. You can increase the fan speed for more intense cooking or reduce it for lighter tasks, and a lot of models also feature a Boost or Intensive mode. Venting hobs are often more streamlined and easy to clean than a traditional cooker hood, whilst also saving on space, making them particularly beneficial in kitchens with limited space or where a minimalist aesthetic is desired.

Installation

Installation

AEG Extractor Hobs are easy and quick to install, and they even offer a no piping solution when installing an Extractor Hob in recirculation mode. This means that no piping is visible, and the air circulates within the cabinet. Thanks to the innovative filtering system, the moisture is captured meaning there is no risk of condensation that could damage your furniture.

When installing an Extractor Hob for Recirculation, the air circulates within the cabinet. When installing an Extractor Hob for Duct Out you need a hole in the wall so the filtered air can escape outdoors.

Recirculation Installation (Available as Ductless or Half Pipe):

- Ductless feeds directly into the back cavity when installed, recirculating the air down the back of the cabinets into the kitchen.

- Half Pipe feeds vertically down and out of the front cavity when installed, recirculating the air forward to the kitchen.

Duct Out Installation (Available as Straight Down or Left/Right Oriented):

- Straight Down has fewer parts for the install, running directly out the cabinet to the exterior wall to vent.

- Left/Right Oriented has more parts for the install, to allow the choice for which wall is used to vent to the exterior.

AEG Venting Hobs

Filters and Maintenance

AEG venting hobs feature an Active Carbon 2 in 1 Filter (Recirculation) that captures Odour & Grease directly during cooking, keeping your kitchen fresh and clean.

Every day cleaning (less than 100 hours usage):

If you are cleaning the filters before you receive a notification, then rinse the filters with hot water. Do not use detergent. If needed, use a soft sponge to remove grease build up. Once rinsed, place filters in the oven at a maximum temperature of 60°C for a maximum time of 15 minutes.

Time to regenerate (more than 100 hours usage):

After 100 hours of usage, you will receive a notification to clean the filter. Place the filters in the dishwasher without detergent and any other dishes. The dishwashing cycle should be between 65-70°C. Once cleaned, place filters in the oven at a temperature of 80°C for approximately 1 hour. 2-in-1 Filters can regenerate 8 times before needing to be replaced.

A Grease Filter can be rinsed manually with hot water and detergent, or placed in the dishwasher with detergent. Grease Filters can be cleaned as many times as you like without needing to be replaced and are a sustainable option with one filter lasting the entire lifecycle of the hob it is in.

AEG Gas Hobs

Precise Power

AEG gas hobs are known for providing precise control over the flame intensity, thanks to the FlameLight, Speed Burners and StepPower designs. These features allow for accurate temperature adjustments during cooking. The bright LEDs of the FlameLight show you the flame power levels from 1 to 9. The LEDs also vividly show you whether a knob is turned on or off, and if pan supports are still hot after use. With StepPower Controls, the heat can be set at levels 1 to 9, with each ascending increment offering more power, so controlling the heat of the hob is far more precise than on a typical gas hob. The Speed Burners are designed to allow the flames to directly target the bottom of the pan, providing quicker heat and greater efficiency. These high-speed burners get you cooking up to 20% faster. AEG gas hobs also feature a convenient Minute Minder, allowing you to monitor the progress of your cooking and always stay in absolute control of the food you’re creating.

AEG's Gas Stop feature is the safer way to cook for added peace of mind. Should the hob flame go out, it stops the fuel supply automatically, ensuring perfect safety. To maximise kitchen safety, you can also use the Child Lock to prevent the hob from being turned on accidentally. If you have to step away from the hob for a minute, the Stop+Go function reduces all zones to a 'keep warm' setting for you. Stop+Go remembers the previously selected setting once you resume cooking. With Integrated Ignition, all you have to do is gently turn and press the knob, to effortlessly and comfortably spark a flame from the hob.
